Speedex offers physical properties that approximate to those of addition cured silicones – polyvinylsiloxanes.
Speedex has elastic recoverability and reproduction, which is otherwise only achieved by A-Silicones. As a result of the low shrinkage, impressions remain dimensionally stable and can be cast for up to 7 days without problems. Furthermore this premium C-Silicone shows an outstanding wettability and excellent flow characteristics.
The Speedex system gives the advantage to work with only one activator for 3 consistencies.
Speedex light body has outstanding wettability and excellent flow characteristics. Saliva and blood are displaced by Speedex light and have no negative side effects. With the variable setting time of Speedex light body the important mucosal movements, which are necessary for the full and partial denture technique, can be taken very precisely. A presicion impression is the key for an accurate fitting denture. Speedex Light Body offers physical properties that approximate to those of addition cured silicones – polyvinylsiloxanes. Haemostatic or anaesthetic substances do not influence the setting process. The handling with latex-gloves is also uncritical.
Speedex Activator – Universal Activator for Speedex putty, Speedex putty soft, Speedex light body and Speedex medium.
Speedex putty is the preferred material for the 2-step technique where pressure is needed.
Packaging
- 1 x Putty (910 ml)
- 1 x Light body (140 ml)
- 1 x Activator (60 ml)
Direction to Use
- Spread out the Speedex putty material in the palm of hand.
- Apply one strand length of Speedex Universal Activator per circle diameter.
- Fold material and knead with fingers until an absolutely homogeneous colour is attained, but for at least 30-45 seconds mixing time.
- Insert the impression tray, loaded with impression material, into the oral cavity and press for 2-3 seconds. Then hold in situ until the material has set completely.
Speedex Light Body :
Dosage :
- Dispense Speedex Universal Activator and Speedex light body on a mixing block in two equal strands. Make sure that the tubes are closed immediately after use.
- Intensive mixing, high temperatures and humidity accelerate the curing of the impression materials. Low temperatures slow down the curing process. By over and underdosing the Speedex Universal Activator the processing time can be accelerated or slowed down.
Mixing :
- Take up one component (Universal Activator or light body) with spatula and spread evenly on the other component.
- Then pick up both components with the spatula and spread out on the mixing block.
- Repeat this procedure until the mixture is homogeneous. Please observe the specified processing times.
Impression :
- Depending on the impression method, apply the impression material in the patient’s mouth or to the impression tray.
- Insert the impression tray into the oral cavity and press for 2-3 seconds and keep in situ until set completely.
Pouring of models :
- The ideal time lies between 30 min and 72 h after taking the impression.
- The surface tension will be reduced and pouring will be facilitated if the impression is briefly washed out with a detergent and rinsed thoroughly in lukewarm clear water afterwards. All industry-standard dental stone model materials can be used.
